Announce your opening date and fill the first week

A grand opening email has to answer three things: when you open, what it costs and how to book. This one puts the date in the subject line and the code in the preview text.

Why it works

Why this email works

  1. 1The date leads the subject line. Stillwater Yoga opens November 8 is the whole subject, and the preview text behind it carries the street, the discount and the code. Nobody has to open the email to find out when the doors open.
  2. 2Times and prices do the persuading. Classes run 6 am to 8 pm, the first class is $10 through November, a 60-minute Swedish massage is $95 and a 50-minute facial is $80. A reader can decide whether this fits their week before clicking anything.
  3. 3The offer comes with an end date. Code OPEN20 takes 20% off a first month of classes and off massages and facials, and the line under the button says November 8 to December 8, one use per person. A code with a deadline gives people a reason to book this week.
  4. 4The quiet room sells the place. Low light and no chanting tells a nervous beginner what the class will feel like, and ginger tea and hot towels after class describe something a price list cannot. Small details like these are what a reader remembers on the day they choose a studio.
