How to write win-back emails
When to send it
Send it to a customer who has not visited in 90 days and has nothing booked. For a café, a gym or a salon, that is often the regular who came every week and then quietly stopped.
Send it to a customer who has not ordered in 90 days and has nothing on the way. For a shop, that may be someone whose last order was a cleanser, a gift, or a size they will need again.
Leave out anyone who cancelled a booking or complained and never got a reply. That person needs an answer from you first, not a reminder that you noticed they left.
Timing
Two emails, 7 days apart. The first goes out on the morning the 90 days pass. The second follows a week later and gives one more reason to come back, such as a new item or a class time that suits them better.
The sequence stops the moment they book, visit or order, so nobody gets the second email after they have already come back. If the first email brings them in, the second one never sends.

How AguMail sends it
AguMail sends this email from an automated flow, so both messages go out by themselves once you turn it on. For a café, studio or salon, the flow starts when a customer has not visited for 90 days and has nothing booked: the first email goes that morning, the second 7 days later, and the flow stops when they book or visit. For a shop, it starts at 90 days without an order, sends the first email right away and the second 7 days later, and stops as soon as they order.
The visit flow runs on every plan, Free included, and needs each customer's last visit date, which you can add by import, the AguMail API or a contact edit. The shop flow runs on the Commerce plan, from $69 a month, and in the free trial, and needs your orders from WooCommerce or the AguMail API. Every template is free on every plan: picking one copies it into your account and opens it in the email editor, where you can change any word, color or picture. The writing assistant can draft the words from the business details saved in AguMail, and you read and approve the email before it goes out.
This flow runs on every plan, Free included.
Common questions about win-back emails
How many win-back emails should I send?
Two, a week apart. The first says you noticed they have not been in. The second gives one more reason to return, then the sequence stops.
Do I need to offer a discount?
No. Two of the templates above name no money at all: the salon one and the skincare one. A reminder about a product running low or a standing appointment can be enough.
What if the customer comes back after the first email?
The flow stops. AguMail ends the sequence when someone books, visits or orders, so they will not get the second email a week later.
Which plan do I need?
The flow for visits runs on every plan, Free included. The flow for shops runs on the Commerce plan, from $69 a month, and in the free trial. The 14-day trial includes every feature and needs no credit card.
Can I change the words before it sends?
Yes. Choosing a template copies it into your account and opens it in the editor, where you can rewrite any line, change colors and swap the picture. Your changes are what the flow sends.
